We have been reading Charlotte's Web with Owen and finished it tonight on Thanksgiving.
Owen has always loved books and he was captivated by the simple story of friendship between Wilbur the pig and Charlotte the spider on a farm. We laughed at the antics of Templeton the rat and delighted in the acrobatics of Charlotte weaving her web.
I worried a bit about whether Owen would be upset by the end and Charlotte's death but he seemed to take it in a stride. And maybe because it seemed like the natural cycle of life on the farm.
It's a classic, timeless story and I really enjoyed reading it again and seeing it delight my own child. Happy thanksgiving.
