Apple Picking and Fall Traditions

For the past six years, we have been renting a cabin with good friends in the North Georgia mountains in Blue Ridge. These cabins have all the amenities of a luxury hotel and we love cooking and making it our temporary home.

This year our cabin overlooked the Toccoa River and there was a lovely back deck with a fireplace where we roasted marshmallows. The kids took off their clothes, and went jumping in the river (with their dad on duty) and didn't want to come out.

Zoe's idea of hiking is riding on Phil's shoulders, which is pretty similar to Owen at her age. We also went apple picking at Mercier orchards. They have the most amazing apple cider donuts. I ate 3 at a time.

It's great to getaway to the great outdoors without having to travel too far.
