Escape to Blue Ridge, Part Deux

We spent the weekend in a cabin in the North Geogia mountains, enjoying the crisp mountain air, changing fall colors and beautiful views of the lake. We went last year in the spring and managed to fit in more hikes--but that was before Owen!

Owen really enjoyed playing with the girls and exploring his new environment. We took a hike by Amicolola Falls, the largest in Ga. This time we drove to the top and hiked down the stairs to the midway point. (Smart, huh?) On our drive home we stopped at a farm stand and got apple cider and fried pie. Ok, where has this been hiding all my life?

Our friends Kim and LJ brought their lovely daughter Maddie and her best friend Morasha, who has written a book, "My Invisible World – Life with a Brother, His Disability and His Service Dog." She's only 11! She's going to be featured on CNN in a series called Young People Who Rock.
