Staying Cool in Dupont Circle

If you've ridden the metro in DC, you might recognize this view climbing up the massive escalator in Dupont Circle. If you've ever spent July in DC and survived 100-plus days, then you know how hot and sticky it can get riding the subway.

But lucky for us, we are staying cool in a cute boutique hotel called Hotel Palomar just steps away from a potpourri of shops and restaurants. Surprisingly, things don't look that different than they did when I stayed here ten years ago. And the metro is convenient for getting around, despite the heat!
