Attack of the Safari Ants

Today we went to Mpanga Forest Reserve, which is about an hour drive from the city. It's a tropical rainforest with overgrown vegetation and lots of butterflies. We went on the main trail and spotted some hornbills, which are rather noisy. The nature walk ended abruptly when some large safari ants climbed up my legs into my pants and I ran most of the way back to the car. Fortunately, they aren't poisonous but let's just say there's something disturbing about ants in your pants. We did see the great blue turaco and red-tailed monkeys jumping through the trees.
