Journey to Africa

I am departing this afternoon for my marathon flight from JFK to Entebbe through Brussels. I calculated that it will take about 24 hours of travel time. Sigh.

Phil is already settled in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. I talked to him the other day and our conversation went like this:

Jen: "Where did you go for dinner?"
Phil: "An Indian restaurant. The food was really good."
Jen: "Great."
Phil: "Oh, there was an earthquake during dinner."
Jen: "WHAT?! An EARTHQUAKE during dinner?"
Phil: "It felt like a big truck went rolling by."
Jen: "What did you do... hide under the table?"
Phil: "We went outside."
Jen: "Were there other people there?"
Phil: "Yes, the restaurant was full. When we came back inside, the waiter came over and asked if everything was alright. We said, 'There was an earthquake.' He responded, 'Yes, I know.'"

And so it goes.
