The Real World (I wish)

On Monday nights, Bravo runs "The West Wing" marathons. For one blissful night a week, I get to pretend like the government is an idealistic place to work where brilliant thinkers are debating important issues, wrestling with ethical questions and still find time to trade witty barbs. What a smart show.

Want to know what else is worth watching? "Jack & Bobby," just might be the best new series of the season. Think "The West Wing" meets "Felicity." Christine Lahti plays a pot-smoking feminist prof. trying to raise two teenage sons, one of whom will become President of the United States. It might sound like a quaint concept, but the characters and execution are terrific.
